Design Elements For The Product

After conducting a detailed comparison of resources, I chose three applications which are versatile and user-friendly. The first tool selected, Adobe Connect. As previously noted the instructional setting, consist of approximately six thousand culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams. As such, the software solutions provided the most logical of choices. The unique functionality of the first solution consists of virtual classrooms set up, curriculums courses development, and content resources online distribution. This all-inclusive solution will be used for rapid training, and mobile learning is supporting training accessible from anywhere, anytime, on virtually any device. Instructors will use the following software features:

  • Facilitate class online
  • Use microphones/ webcams
  • Share /screens- material on any participants’ computer
  • Use whiteboards ( if available)
  • Control breakout rooms
  • Use the voice over IP for audio
  • An unlimited number of video streams sessions.
  • Record sessions/ learning materials for distribution or inclusion

This resource will be utilized in each lesson. The instructors will also have access to video tutorial’s and additional resources to complement the newly acquired understanding of how to set up virtual classrooms. The second resource selected, Adobe Captivate. The value of this application is its authoring functionality, which will be used for creating e-learning content such as software demonstrations, software simulations and randomized quizzes in web formats.  The second resource will be used in the fourth lesson to collaboratively create documentation, and or learning resources for the use of staff and curriculum development.  Sample documents and resources created will be linked and accessible for review and or enhancement.  This is also ideal for geographically distributed teams.  The added value, creating and developing future curriculum and or lesson plans. The third resource Camtasia. The value-add, in this case, Camtasia is software suite, specifically used for creating electronic tutorials and presentations via screencast, or a direct recording plug-in to Microsoft PowerPoint, once again a valuable tool for instructing geographically distributed teams. This resource used in each lesson. Instructors will record videos/simulations of webinar delivered session, create and stream content.

Design Elements

The Wiggins backward design process is selected and most appropriate, the organizational goals and requirements without question take precedent. The three-step process, an integral aspect of each lesson. The emphasis on desired outcomes, acceptable evidence coupled with planned learning experiences and instruction in detail postmortem conversation coupled with verbal and written assessments at the conclusion of the selected lesson plan. The creation and use of an assessment to gage all facets of understanding is a necessity. Assessment(s) share the following characteristics:

  • Indicates learner’s progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Assessments are used to suggest further objectives.
  • Assessments align with stated objectives and goals.

Integral to success, planned lessons and learning activities.

The noted design elements contributed t the purpose of the instructional product is used consistently
